Terms of Use
Terms of Use
These Terms govern access to and use of Parlo. They apply to artists, designers, clients, and any other account holders using the service.
Effective date: September 3, 2026
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Parlo, you agree to these Terms of Use and our posted policies. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Eligibility
You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement and use Parlo only in compliance with applicable law. Accounts must be created with accurate information, and you are responsible for activity under your account.
Parlo's Role
Parlo provides a service for artists to list original physical artwork and for people seeking artwork to request monthly placements. Parlo records request, payment, shipment, return, and communication information in the product. Unless Parlo expressly states otherwise, it does not take ownership of listed artwork or provide transportation, installation, insurance, or artwork sales services.
Artwork Authenticity
Artists are solely responsible for the originality, authenticity, accuracy, condition disclosures, and lawful right to place artwork through Parlo. Parlo may remove artwork or suspend accounts if authenticity or eligibility concerns arise.
Physical Artwork Requirement
Parlo is intended for original physical artwork. By adding artwork to the collection, you confirm that the piece is a tangible original work and that its details, dimensions, and media are accurately represented.
Payments and Fees
Each artwork listing shows its gross monthly placement price. An artist must approve a placement request before Parlo collects the first monthly payment using the requester’s saved payment method. When the artwork is marked as handed off, Parlo activates the recurring payment schedule. Handoff does not create an additional payment. The first recurring payment is collected one calendar month after handoff, followed by monthly payments for the remainder of the selected placement term. You authorize Parlo and its payment providers to collect those payments. Parlo calculates its configured platform fee and the artist allocation from each successful payment; payout services are provided through Stripe Connect.
Placement Requests and Artwork Availability
A placement request includes proposed timing and a placement duration of at least three months. The monthly placement price, selected duration, and placement charges for that duration are shown before the request is submitted and before the artist accepts it. Artists may accept or decline pending placement requests individually. A request that is accepted while payment is being completed reserves the artwork, and an active placement makes it unavailable for new placement requests. A requester may withdraw a pending request; requests that may already be approved or charged require Parlo review instead of an automatic withdrawal.
Handoff, Returns, and Condition Records
Before an artwork can be marked as shipped, Parlo requires a current condition image and shipment details. A return request records a requested return date, a current condition image, and any note supplied by the requester. Parlo makes the outbound and return records available for review and may assist with communication, but it does not determine condition, arrange transportation, or guarantee a particular return, repair, reimbursement, or insurance outcome.
Care of Artwork
Anyone with artwork in their possession or control must use reasonable care. Artists and requesters are responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide and for communicating practical handoff and return arrangements. Nothing in these Terms limits responsibilities that may apply under law.
Recurring Billing Status
Parlo records a later monthly placement payment only after a successful paid Stripe invoice. A failed recurring payment may place the placement in a past-due status. If Parlo cannot verify a billing event, it may hold the placement for administrative review rather than record it as paid. These records do not create a promise of a refund, cancellation, cure period, or other remedy not separately stated in the product or required by law.
Prohibited Content and Conduct
You may not use Parlo to post unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or harmful content; misrepresent artwork; interfere with platform operations; attempt unauthorized access; or misuse another person's account, data, or messages.
Termination
Parlo may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or limit features where reasonably necessary to protect users, artwork, the service, or legal compliance. Ending use of the service does not by itself cancel an active placement or payment commitment, and obligations that have already arisen remain in effect.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
